Wow, is she not aware that there are moms with CF? The only precautions I was advised to take were during the first 3 months of her life. When we used a bottle I had to sterilize the nipples and I was told to not cough/sneeze on her and use hand sanitizer (I do that anyway to protect myself). I take the same precaution with anyone else's newborn-it takes all of 2 seconds to apply hand sanitizer before picking up the baby. I'm only colonized with staph aureus. I think it would be enough to teach your daughter to not cough right near little babies and use hand sanitizer to make nervous new moms feel at ease.
