Oh geez, I'm gonna make my list fantasy-land here since it'll never happen, but hey while we're dreaming...

- Nice shower and a jacuzzi type tub. We're sick, we need our muscles to relax! <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">
- Bigger tv with dvd player, possibly video games?
- Balcony with some chairs to sit outside
- Occasionally get food delivered from local restaurants <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0"> (like as part of your hospital meal plan)
- Nicer towels, a robe, slippers
- Wireless internet (though, my current hospital already has this... yay)
- Fridge in room and the ability to stock up some foods in it from the cafe
- BETTER BEDS that are not a sweatbox and miserable to sleep/lay on - good idea Amy!
- Names on doors again, and on the board outside.. I miss meeting people and saying hi to strangers ;_; Damn you HIPAA
- Nice couch for guests
- Small table in addition to your tray table
- Lockable closet or drawer or something like that
- Piece of exercise equipment of your choice in the room - maybe a treadmill or a bike or something

Hmm I think I just described a four star hotel, lol.

I haven't been hospitalized in ages, but I can include a bit of info to your guys' list...

<b>Mockingbird:</b>
<div class="FTQUOTE"><begin quote>Also, when the IV pole needs to beep, it beeps in the nurse's station, NOT in my room. </end quote></div>

It would probably be as simple as using a wireless circuit to tell the nurses that the IV pole is done...if it's able to beep in your room (which must be irritating if you are alseep at the time!)

<b>Iamqueenofeverything:</b>
<div class="FTQUOTE"><begin quote>A DVD or VCR </end quote></div>

<b>bittyhorse23:</b>
<div class="FTQUOTE"><begin quote>- VCR and DVD available to rent while there </end quote></div>
<div class="FTQUOTE"><begin quote>- ability to rent movies to use in the above </end quote></div>

<b>Sevenstars:</b>
<div class="FTQUOTE"><begin quote>- Bigger tv with dvd player, possibly video games?</end quote></div>

Although the big tv would have much to do with the hospital's finances, the idea of the movie rental can be done without a VCR or DVD. This is a technology already in practice in Japan, but I also saw it at the hotel I stayed at in DC. Rather than using a DVD or such, my basic understanding is that when the movie is requested, it will be downloaded to the harddisk inside the component that is also used for the tv channel selections.
I would imagine that if you wanted a pay-type of service then that would be easily accomodated. However, if you wanted free movies, I would imagine that whatever you can rent out for free at the local library could also be implemented into that service.

For the towels, maybe it's just a matter of changing fabric softeners?! <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0">

though I would like to see a hospital to allow video games, that I think unless they have lockers that won't allow any personal items to be stolen, then having a locker in your room that is tied down real good and with a combination that can be easily changed but not easily broken into so you can store your own things from home into them and use when necessary...?

I do remember my time in the hospital..I was building a plastic model car while I was in there...

Though having better food service would also be a bonus..with a refrigerator at least! <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif" border="0">

"Also, soft, luxury toilet paper. It should be the kind of toilet paper that would clog an ordinary toilet. I would also want a super no-clog toilet capable of flushing a wool-knit sweater with no problems... and my own toilet plunger in the room... just in case. "

Thats the funniest thing I heard this morning.. even though it is still early.

Have a great day!

-i say give us a mini kitchen along with the mini fridge so that we actually GAIN weight while in the hosptial not lose weight.

-in the hospital i go to now, it would be nice to have a different bed because the beds they have now are sort of like an air matress and EVERY and i mean EVERY time you move it blows up to readjust to where you moved to on the bed, talk about annoying especially when ur trying to sleep (it re-adjusts even if you move you foot, just your foot!)

-a bench seat by the window like my old hospital (that was so nice)

-a bench tray (the thingy you put your lunch on) that actually opens without a fight to reveal the second tray hidden below

there's others, but other people have already said them! i'm sure i could think of more, but those are the ones off the top of my head!
