I was told this last admission that I have fatty liver. My alt was 80. I was told that this isn't really high.
DO you have fatty liver?
If so what do you know about it?
Is there anything to take to help this. Either natural or prescription?
Does it go away?
What causes it?

I asked theses questions while I was there but was not given any answers. So I was left with nothing. UGH!!!

I have no clue what the implications are in the "human world"...in the vet field, fatty liver often occurs when an obese cat stops eating for unknowns reasons. Fat is metabolized then accumulates in the liver. These kitties must be force fed and put on a series of antibiotics...usually Baytril (enrofloxicin - a veterinary-only drug), amoxicillin, and metronidazole as well as ursodiol. Liver vaiues are elevated as well as the the mucus membranes are yellow/icteric....in these cases, the condition reverses once the cat resumes eating normally......I'm sure I've been of absolutely no help.... <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-tongue.gif" border="0">

As far as my Dr's say for a person to have a fatty liver and cf is kinda rare, it's not that common. My Dr's actually asked me several times about my drinking haha. I was like I swear, I'm not going to lie to you, I have drank on like 3 occasions (at the time). There is no established cause but they speculate that certain diseases, like diabetes can be related to it. Do you have cf related diabetes?
