Feeding Tube

My son started with a G-tube and now has a GJ. He got his tube when he was 4 I think. It is nice to have if your little one is like my son and doesn't want to eat all the time plus his matabo is high. Since a G tube was already explained I'll tell you about the GJ. It still is a little button but it has 2 ports one for a G and one for the J. The J end goes right into his intestines vs dumping into the stomach. He has a mild reflux so going past the stomach is best. He is currently getting 4 cans of peptimen 1.5 every night. Some parents are worried about school and play etc. with a tube but let me tell you not a soul cared at school and he still does everything a normal kid does. It is a great thing to have. It takes some pressure off you and the kids in getting all the cals in they need. I took a photo with my phone of my sons button. Sorry for the fuzzyness. Hope this helps.
