My doctor once told me our immune system is down during the time of our menstrual cycle. I tend to feel worse during that time of the month too.

I have read that hormones are to blame for more teenage girls dying from CF than boys of the same ages.

According to the CFF women on the whole die earlier than men.

There are many explanations - a big one is men tend to exercise, namely lift weights, way more than women to bulk up.

I have heard that the hormones have an affect too, (not about they dying thing, though). It makes sense, if you think about how our cervical mucus changes based on where we are in our cycle - why wouldn't that impact the mucus in the rest of our bodies?
