What is your baseline, Busbie? Im allergic to Cipro which is kinda bad cause thats really supposed to fight pseudo... My pfts were down to 71% and maybe lower than that before I went on home iv's (tobi & cephapime), and they have come back up to 83% fev1.

OK people!-Busbie said this has been going on 5 WEEKS. Not 5 months, or even a year. So to talk about a person in <i>this case</i> gracefully giving up and stopping the fight is ridiculous. To turn this into a death talk when someone has only been sick for 5 weeks is ridiculous, not to mention it accomplishes nothing for a patient who came here, trying to find answers. That is my point. I'm not saying that there aren't cases where what you said above isn't the absolute truth Emily-but this doesn't apply to this thread at all.</end quote></div>

I will simply copy the relevant part that makes your response 100% useless:
<div class="FTQUOTE"><begin quote>And there's nothing wrong with finding a point where fighting is no longer worth it, and going home to relax until it's over <b>(though I doubt the original poster is at this place yet).</b></end quote></div>

I only said what I said because you jumped up Amy's @ss and there was no need for it. End of story.

busbie,

i think it takes time for your PFTs to bounce back after antibiotics. my best FEV1 in YEARS (maybe 10 years) occurred 9 months after a course of IVs and that was largely because of the exercise routine i got into.

but in general, my PFTs are almost NEVER higher at my recheck appointments after IVs--sometimes they are even lower than before IVs. so don't get discouraged. like everyone has said, exercise, exercise, exercise!

good luck <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">
