First accupuncture session

I had my first session today and I think I'm hooked! If I had been any more relaxed I would have oozed off the table. I fell asleep on the table. It was great! You don't feel like you have needles in you at all, just a quick little bit of pressure as it goes in, and then after that it just felt like I had a heating pad on my back. The needles felt like I had a small amount of weight on me and the Doc put an infared light over me to warm up the muscles. He attatched little electrodes to two of the needles to deliver a tiny shock, which made the muscles twitch, kind of like when your eye starts twitching, it didn't hurt at all. I swear 5 minutes into the treatment I felt the tight muscle that has been bothering me relax. It was like letting the tension out of a stretched rubber band. My sinuses also cleared while I was there. He put an herb patch on my back that I am supposed to wear until my next session on Monday. Next time he is going to put some needles on my head to relieve stress and depression. If it helps my depression I am going right into my docs office and demanding a long term perscription.

I am happy for you. I have an acupuncturist who I like and he is also a respiratory therapist. I knew another acu man who also was a respiratory therapist. It must be a growing trend these days.

Sounds like your guy is great. I hope you keep it up.

If you want to learn acupressure aka touch for health, there are some very interesting points you can work on yourself from the book
"Energy Medicine" by Donna Eden and David Feinstein

I love this book so much. I own many books and they all have some great teachings but this book I learned the greatest things to help myself for LIFE.

I sedate and strengthen my lung points along my lung meridian. I also work on my triple warmer points.

Keep us posted on your treatments

wow, I hope it works for you.

I really did not enjoy my treatments at all, maybe 1/4 was 'ok'. Perhaps if I ever go again I shoudl try someone new, living so far away from a rally large town I think the quality here might not be as good too.
