flat tummies

my doctors have always wanted me to gain weight. (like they do everyone w/CF right?) So I finally just did it. I eat as much as I could, as often as I could. I made it like my job. I didn't always want to, but I tried anyway.
So I ended up going from 99pounds to 115pounds. YAY

So now the MD's aren't all over me anymore. It's nice.
I like the way I look with the new weight. My face is fuller, my arms are thicker. But the way my stomach looks really bothers me. I've never had 6-pack abs, but I really hate how my stomach looks NOW.

I've been asked by two different strangers, "Oh, wow! Are you pregnant?"
I was devastated (like ANY woman who is NOT pregnant would be).

I went shopping for under-garments that are supposed to help suck in your gut and found one that's pretty good.
It takes 2 inches off my stomach (I was hoping for a more dramatic change, but 2 inches is pretty good).
It is really thin and smooth, so you can wear under t-shirts and jeans - and no one is the wiser, very slick.

If you're interested, it's a SHAPING MID-THIGH BODYSUIT by the company SPANX.
I found it at NORDSTROMS, but it cost $68.00 (which I think is crazy expensive!!!!) luckily, my mom was nice enough to help me pay for it.

But I just heard the other day that Dr. Robert Rey (that dude from the reality show "Dr. 90210") is coming out with new shapewear that makes you one to two dress sizes smaller. It's called Instant Shape. It's going to be available at SEARS October 27, 2007.
Prices ranging from $27.50 to $60.00

(sorry if I sound like an info-mercial but I just found this out & I was excited to share it)

It's nice to know that we aren't alone :) Stay strong, girls :)

I have it too. I hate it!! I agree perfect posture is the best remedy even sometimes that doesn't help when I am bloated. I have a c-section scar that doesn't help things (I have a "wonderful" amount of scar tissue). I have tried the control top hose but they give me such a stomach ache. I just wear long shirts and steer away from straight dresses. The only time I didn't have a tummy was right after my gall bladder surgery (I had lost tons of weight due to not eating).

I tried sit ups and pilates-- no luck with the tummy just better posture.

Back when I was in highschool I wieghed 115lbs and I still had a tummy but could easily suck it in, which didn't look bad, I never done anything to flatten it more, maybe i should of done sit ups or something but I just sucked in all the time. Now that I have gained weight, 145lbs now and my tummy is even bigger and I cant suck my tummy in very much now so I where the baggy shirts so I dont have to suck in. I have since I gained wieght and wear the baggy shirts I have been asked by a few people if Im pregnant. I dont take offense to it I just say no Im fat. It seemed as though all that weight gain went directly to my tummy and I hate it.

I'm a GUY and even my wife asks "So, when is it due!?"
It definitely has to do a lot with our digestive systems...perhaps depending on how our livers are, that may be added to the tummy.
As a kid, I was able to stick out my belly and cause it to look real big...even now I can do that, and the wife freaked out!!
I have a little "chub" around my middle, not too extensive but enough to where it shows when my weight fluxuates in the ++ direction!
I had a flatter tummy when I weighed less, but I felt too skinny that way, because I lost weight in my face as well and looked "skeletal" as my ex put it one time!
I also think the "tummy" thing coincides with having digestive issues sometimes, too.
