Flatulence with beer

Beer is carbonated (Either wholly naturally through the yeast process, or additionally artificially in order to deliver it at the tap). Carbonated drinks will always give you a certain level of "Gas". As for soda, that has additional acidity, which can also cause stomach aches. FYI- Any liquid gulped too quickly can also give you "Gas", since trapped air bubbles can form (I'd be lying to you if I didn't say that I've had to burp after gulping water too quickly from a bottle before). A few things that help relieve gaseous buildup in carbonated beverages prior to consumption includes: Not drinking it with a straw, letting it sit out in an open glass for a period of time, and sprinkling some salt into it.

Thanks for the replies, but apparently, beer makes my blood sugars shoot through the roof. I don't understand, when I was younger, they didn't do a thing. But last night I drank 2 beers and a few hours later my blood sugar was 311! Needless to say, even though I love just sitting down after a hard day and cracking open a bruskie, I think I'm going to give it up.

As for the kidney stone, next week I have an appointment for shock wave lithotripsy, to break up the stone. They suggested a stint be put in, but I declined.
