Forgetting Enzymes

I love reading these. It's my first time logging on ever. I'm 43 and yes...still forget to take them with me when I leave the house. If I don't do my normal routine in the morning, I can still forget. It's kinda crazy. So what I'll do is put a bunch in my car and in the kitchen at home. What happens every now and then is I'll have a lunch meeting with a client and won't take them during the meal. I know I'll feel it the next day.

Yesterday, I had a meeting with a pretty, girl client at a BBQ place. I ate BBQ, cup of chili and hush puppies. Paid for it today. I try and be better, but it's sometimes still tough. I remember in college and the first several years afterwards, I'd LIVE with a bottle of Pepto Bismol on my desk! take care...

Clay-based anti-diarrheal medications like Pepto and Kaopectate are a bad idea for people with CF. Our diarrhea is usually just loose, fatty stools and not watery. Those medications work by drying up the water in your gut and that's how they slow down the poo. Too much of them and you run the risk of a painful bowel obstruction.

Reading this blog makes me feel horrible! The only time i ever take my enzymes is when i am in the hospital and they force feed them to me. I wish i could just remember to take them. But I ALWAYS forget to bring them with me and I ALWAYS forget to take them, so i end taking them in the middle of meal or end of it... And i'm not even sure that helps. When i was little my parents reminded me. But once i became EXTREMELY independent (my way of fighting my disease) I completely forgot about the pills. This blog has inspired me to atleast try to remember... Here i go to take them before breakfast... haha <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">
