It depends on your insurance plan. There is no generic form for Boniva, so u would pay for the brand name. PPOs usually have co-pays ranging from $15-$50. My Ins plan, it would be $20 for brand name. I'm not sure what Medicare or Medicaid would be. You would need to check with your Ins Co by calling or looking at your policy. Check their website, they might have a tool to decide how much you pay.

I ended up having an appointment with my doctor at the end of March and we discussed my DEXA scan. It turns out, I had improved so my treatment with oral meds is working! She did take me off Bpniva and ordered Fossamax instead, saying she thought it was more effective. So I'm back to once weekly, but I'm no longer in the osteoporosis category after 3 years of treatment. I'm upgraded to osteopenia for the first time! (but like at the end of the scale, I'm just borderline osteoporosis.)
