FREE MEDICINE

before i offer free medicine, i suppose i should find out if it's legal. anyone know?

my boyfriend, my love, died 2 months ago. i want to help other people with CF in his memory by giving away his medications. they are not in front of me right now, but they include: cellcept, prograf, valcyte, dapsone, azithromycin, prednisone, lipram pn20, creon, and buspar (maybe some of those were gone - maybe there are more).

if anyone can let me know if this is legal - and also if there's interest, that would be great. i'm just putting my feelers out right now.

thanks,
KATIE

It is not legal to use someone else's presciption medicine, but we won't tell anyone.

This is very generous of you Katie, it will certainly come in handy for someone. I'm so sorry for your loss.

ditto, it's not legal, but i think that's stupid. I've given away pleanty of mark's stuff. We have great coverage, and others don't and need it just as bad. You are very very kind to offer it up.

I'm sorry for the loss of your boyfriend, how are you doing?

Hi Katie

I am so sorry about your partner, my heart goes out to you and I
commend your attitude of trying to help others, so close to having
lost so much yourself. Big hugs to you

Personally, although I live a million miles away, if I can find a
cheapish way of getting it here (obviously I will pay ALL costs
myself), I'd be really interested in the Azithromycin - how much do
you have there?

Down here in the backside of the world, we don't get Azithromycin
as it is deemed to expensive...instead they have given me
Roxithromycin (Romicin), but this just gives me the runs
unfortunately and i'm sure it isn't as effective.

What I really need is a vest - NZ Pharmac is also too tight to
provide vests for us down here, instead I currently use a PEP,
which doesn't really do much for me - I want to try a vest and am
prepared to pay all costs to get one here if anybody has a spare
one - it would need to be a small one though - i'm super skinny -
seriously chickens laugh at my legs when they see them.....

Let me know how many Azithro's you have and I'll see if i can find
out what the costs would be to get them here.

Thanks and take care of yourself, i really am so sorry

Hi Katie,
I just wanted to say i am sorry for your loss of your boyfriend. I think it is wonderful you want something good to come of it by helping others . The heck with if it's legal or not, i've done it myself and would do it again and again to help someone in need.

thank you so much for the responses so far. like i said, i'd love to help other people out in casey's memory. he was such an amazing person - i feel like i'm falling more in love with him every day. which is hard - but comforting. so please, keep responding.

does anyone know if sending medications by mail would have any legal ramifications? i'm still just checking this all out - i don't want to end up in trouble. but i really would like to help.

i'm now at home, so i have the medicines in front of me. here's what he had left:
-Ultrase MT 20 - qty ~80 capsules
-Ipratropium Bromide (inhalation solution) 2.5ML - qty46 vials
-Prednisone 10MG tablets - qty ~40 tablets
-Cellcept 500MG - qty ~150 tablets
-Cellcept 250MG - qty ~20 capsules
-Prograf 5MG - qty ~40 capsules
-Prograf 1MG - qty ~100 capsules
-Rapamune 2MG - qty ~60 tablets

there are a few others that have less than 5 tablets (dapsone, valcyte, and azithromycin).

i'm sorry krazykat there are only 3 tablets of the azithromycin - but i did email casey's mom about the vest - i think she still had his, i'll let you know what i find out.
