DS has never gone to the nursery at church, he does go to daycare and they've adminstered his enzymes since he was 3 months old.

We have sent him to birthday parties with a baggie of enzymes -- enough for cake and ice cream or dinner -- visiting with the parent beforehand who has usually been comfortable giving them to him, or we depending upon when he eats, waiting around. 'Course he's able to take the capsules whole.

Have you tried typing up a label with instructions on how to give him enzymes or giving them a copy of the cff.org feeding enzymes to infants brochure?

You will definately find that some people are more interested and willing to learn than other people. For us, some of our friends have been very wonderful. Most of our family is disinterested (or that is how they appear). I just have really adopted the feeling that we (our family of 4) is kinda on our own. In some cases, it has been a dealbreaker in others we have been able to work around it. In the beginning, it was really upsetting but by now (4+ years after dx) I have pretty well gotten used to it. And, every once in awhile an amazing person steps up and I am happily suprised.

Also, for what it is worth, I have always given my daughter her enzymes when she is at Sunday School or any other place where the help/workers vary. I figure it is just easier than hoping they remember to do it and remember to do it right. It helps to know what time they will do snacks, for instance I knew that when she was at Sunday School, they did snacks at 10:30. I just gave her enzymes when we got there at 10:15 and knew they would be good for her snack.

HTH!

i put in a small readout I typed, with a laminated 3 easy step feeding instruction. I had every thing dummied out... small plastic container with enough applesauce, or fruit puree. the right amount of enzymes in a medicine/vitamin container. the milk was in the bottle, just needed to add the sectioned out portion in the container for cereal. anybody could have done it with out fear of failing.

I just thought it would be a good time for me to trust that care providers can handle doing this stuff. and they failed that.

I think what you did sounds great, that is similar to what I did when my daughter started preschool last year. When she started preschool, that was the first time she had ever had someone other than my husband, me, her grandparents & 2 close friends of mine give her enzymes. It is really good to try to let people help with this stuff as much as possible otherwise you may end up feeling overwhelmed. Maybe you can go in during the week and meet with the person in charge of the children's ministry. I know a friend of mine from HS told me that when she was a kid she remembers a friend of hers getting enzymes in sunday school and she remembers helping with the girls CPT (back in the day before there was a vest). I suppose it is just what each church is comfortable with.
