This would be disturbing to me as well. Especially since you have experienced the way a clinic should be. Sometimes my girls clinic appts can last pretty long, but we are in a private room, seeing different people throughout the appointment.
When they were little, I brought a clean blanket to lay on the floor for the two of them to sit on, and toys, snacks and drinks. If my hubby couldn't come with me, I brought one of the two grandma's with me. Having two little girls to tend to, clinic appts were a nightmare if I was by myself!
Even now, the clinic staff who has been there since they girls were just babies, bring up how cute it was when they would walk in the room and the girls were just as content with all their toys and snacks<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0"> They have really enjoyed watching the girls as they are growing up!
My girls go to clinic at a St. Louis Children's Hospital...no adults there. The adults are seen at Barnes-Jewish. I would definately see what their procedures are as to seeing patients with Cepacia. Our clinic sees the Cepacia positive kids mostly on Fridays. They never see them on days that other CF kids are there.
