The truth-

you don't know gas and stretch marks till you are pregnant.....</end quote>

LOL! Oh so true! The saddest part was the stretch marks on my boobs once they went back to their normal size!

Gas X has helped me (especially around that time of the month ), but I would check into a different enzyme or enzyme regimine with my doctor and see if that helps. I took Cotazyme (do they even have that anymore? lol) when I was a kid, and when I was done growing, I stopped taking them. Less gas and better digestion, and gained a few lbs! NOT SUGGESTING YOU STOP THEM- just stating that that enzyme was wrong for me, and my doctor's didn't or couldn't change it for me (this was 30 + years ago), and my parents had been told that bad gas and bad stools were normal for cf. This week, I asked my GI for new enzymes for during my pms week, and I tried one a couple of days ago- no problems .

As for the stretch marks- I think pretty much everyone gets them sooner or later. I got mine long before I had my daughter, but didn't really get any from my pregnancy- who knows? . Have you thought about a self tanner for the summer? Maybe that would help, if it really makes you self concious . I've always worn a one piece because of my scar (it doesn't bother me, but other people can be a little unnerved and uncomfortable- it's a really long scar ), and now I wear one that has a skirt or shorts all the time, too, for the convience of, um, not having to, um, shave so often (sorry if it's TMI-lol) since I swim 3 days a week .

Unfortunately, there's nothing that helps stretchmarks, just time. Maybe some aloe and vitamin E or mederma could help soften them a bit. They do fade to a silvery-white color after a while, atleast they won't always be bright red. But beware, they sunburn very easily, and that could make them permanently hyper-pigmented. So try to keep them out of the sun for awhile. Use a self tanner instead. I like Jergens because it's gradual so no streaks or orangey color. Dove has a good one too. Believe me, I feel your pain! I have littler ones on my butt, boobs, belly and thighs from pregancy, it's been 2 years and they're barely noticeable. But I have some awful ones on my hips, literally five or six on each side as long and wide as my fingers. I swear I look like I was mauled by a bear or tiger or something. They've faded, but they are so deep. If they're showing with the clothes you're wearing, try a little concealer. I've tried it and it helps.

i never had stretchmarks until i took steroids. they totally ruined my skin. my stretchmarks are quite deep and constantly itch. i have no advice for you as there is no way to get rid of them.

I use proactive skin care and I have noticed it has a bit of a bleaching quality to it. So I have actually used it on some scars that are on my boobs that have stayed rather red and ugly and it's been a few years and for me it did take care of the redness. Obviously thats totally using the product for something it was sooo not meant for but hey...just passing that along. Other than that I'd say talk to a dermotologist...there has to be something out there they can offer...I mean this is bugging you and that sucks...might as well find out if something can be done about it.

I never had a problem with stretch marks recently but had some on one breast when I was younger. I no longer notice them. when you are tiny and suddenly sprout you might get them. Embrace them instead of erase. The more you worry about it, the more it is going to bother you.

ABout gas, I say it is all related to what you eat. If you eat lots of dairy, it will be normal for you to be tooting away. Someone mentioned fried foods, that can make you gassy big time. Too much fruit and fermented foods will send you tooting your horn. Sometimes the reflux pills can give you GASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

I hope you feel better. Do you take Acidophilus? That might help in the gas dept.

I don't know about stretch marks but something that might help you with the gas other than the few that were already mentioned is a neat little product called Beano... Take a little Beano and there will be no gas!

haha thanks everyone..and no i am not pregnant! haha

i know i just have to deal because they're not going away (fast anyways).
but they're still annoying and next time i go to the derm. i will ask her about it... i have asked the pharmacist and she gave me aloe vera/vitamin e lotion that i use.

oh well.

i have a huge scar on my side that i just love showing people because they think i got big by a shark or something...so i tell them i did (i have a whole story made up, but i do tell them...eventually.) but the stretch marks... haha no good stories for that.

and gas, haha well... i eat tons of diary and french fries are the only fried food i eat..but i love em' so i have them like once a week during the school year. diary is probably my biggest problem, but its like theonly thing i eat, so its not going anywhere. im a realllly icky eater so, haha oh well again.

haha thanks everyone
