I hate Ike too but not just because of the gas. We have been without electricity since Sat. and it looks like we will be without until Sept. 29. At least we had a home to come home to that was either still there or not flooded. please keep all of the people in southeast Texas in your prayers.

Ok, you win (in a sad way).

My dislike of Ike is rather selfish, those in TX have it really rough right now and you are all in our thoughts.

But, just FYI gas is still $4+ here right now and there are several stations that keep running out of gas.

Ike may be aggravating the gas situation, but it is not the cause of it. You are witnessing the death throes of the era of cheap oil. (Actually, the era of cheap oil is already dead but some of the lifestyles/ life choices that grew out of it are still kicking and screaming and trying to pretend that gas will go down again some day.) We are approaching the 50% mark for having removed all oil from the ground on the planet. Getting the second half out of the ground costs more than getting the first half out of the ground.

Just a quick gripe on Ike:

Regular just south of Atlanta--

Last night--$3.49

Lunch today--$3.65

9PM today--$4.07

all at same station, all others around town are the same!!!!

For my van, this is is more than $20/tank in less than a day <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif" border="0"> </end quote></div>

Who's "IKE"? The only "Ike" I can recall is Eisenhower... <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-confused.gif" border="0">

If you were posting gas prices, don't fret...living in Japan it would be double that cost! <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif" border="0">

Can you convert your van into a hybrid or bio diesel? <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif" border="0"> lol
Edited to Add...Duh! Ok, I remember Ike...an undesirable weather entity....they call typhoons in Japan "No.1...No.2..No.3"
