Japan's gas prices went down a few weeks back because the Beaurocrats were abusing the funds and in return they cut the tax rates...now the Gas prices go back up again starting May 1st, and everyone (including me) have been filling their tanks before the price hike....other commodities have gone up as well...Thanks Bush!</end quote>

I gotta make a minor correction to my post....though it was Bush and his law to "thin-out" the gasoline with corn (according to the Japanese Media) which caused prices to go up due to the extra processing (I think), the main reason for gasoline to go back up after a month of it dropping has to do with the Japanese Government!
After finding out the Transportation Commission has been embezzeling the gas taxes, the media and the citizens spoke up for the taxes to be lifted...it did...for a month!
The Lawmakers had made a new bill and "railroaded" it through to pass it, thus causing gas prices to go up an extra 30 yen, which made the prices higher than two months ago.
So, now 1 litre of Regular gas costs 139 yen (about $1.40)! I use High-Octane Gas for better economy and performance....hmmm...(Premium 169 yen)

I think everyone should learn how to drive with a raw egg set underneath the gas pedal! (If that doesn't work, a rotten egg would do!)
Or convert their car to LP Gas?!

Ummmmm ... how about if it goes to $10 BUCKS in America?! Now that will seriously suck.

"The forecasts calling for a jump to between $7 and $10 a gallon are based on the view that the price of crude is on its way to $200 in two to three years."

Good thing I'm already a hermit. Another good thing my husband just got a Mini Cooper which is around 30 miles to the gallon! A ton better then my Dodge truck which pushes 12. I may not drive it at all this summer and we'll be sharing the Mini! Geesh.
