And Allie- What the heck are you talkin about? Being jealous of me? I'd rather be able to write like you. Wanna trade my languages for your writing skills? To use my French I have to go to France or the Carribean and I can use my Arabic here occasionally, but everyone's so stinkin prejudice these days- I get funny looks when people realize I speak it.

I took 4 yrs of French in high school. Then I kept up with it afterwards. Later my hubby and I took a small art tour of France and stayed with a family there and that pretty much solidified my French. I still use it on vacations. And it's like ingrained in me. I dream in French.
The Arabic is more of a struggle. It's obviously no relation to English or a Latin language so it's very unfamiliar. I started self teaching at like 16 years old. Then I started lessons with a tutor. And I've always been fascinated by the Middle Eastern culture/Egyptian culture. I also have several Middle Eastern American friends I grew up with. Without that, or very formal training, I think it'd be impossible to learn it.

I have relatives all over WI! One relative lives in Green Bay, next to his favorite football team, and another in Waukesha, not to far from Milwaukee (of course, that's southern WI), and the rest of my relatives are from Fond Du Lac, where my parents were originally from!!

Diane-I grew up in Pennsyl-tucky! In Nazareth-I don't know if that's anywhere near you. It was a little town outside of Bethlehem.
