GHPP

I am looking to relocate sometime in the future and CA has my eye because of GHPP. I can't find much info on the web about it, does anyone know online where I can get more detailed info (aside from the main, vague govt site)?

I am really curious if supplies for an insulin pump would be covered since I have CFRD and will soon be on a pump (and continuous monitor).

Am I right in thinking that if you have private insurance, like say through an employer, you are stuck with having to pay your co-pays and deductibles and GHPP does not pick up the out-of-pocket expenses?

First, you are correct, GHPP does NOT cover co-pays imposed by other insurances, and they do NOT cover out-of-pocket expenses.

GHPP is the last to be billed - all other insurances are billed before it's sent to GHPP.

They take FOREVER to pay and authorize, but I've had NOTHING denied which has been prescribed by my CF doctor (including insulin/syringes etc). I have no clue about the pump - I would think it would be covered.
Sometimes getting an authorization (for a referal doc/new med etc) can take time, but again, I've personally never have had anything denied.

I will make a separate post with exactly what my paperwork from them says, on everything.

by the way, I only have medicare (A & B) and GHPP - between them both, everything has been covered for me.
GHPP does charge an annual enrollment fee - but it's based on income/sliding scale. My cost this year is $480 (due to my husband's income), but if I were single and it was based on my SSDI income alone, I would pay NOTHING.
