Tami,

I have nothing to add. I just wanted to say I have tears in my eyes knowing how hard this decision was for you. I'm sure Emily will really benefit from having the g-tube, but its just anothing stinking reminder of how much CF sucks. I hope that she adjust quickly, and develops an appetite that will enable her to quickly move past the need for it!!!

Big hugs!!!

If you need a place to vent, or cry, or some support on this, you can feel free to contact me!!!

Tami, I have not experience with children and g-tubes - just with kids but having some interesting fun food might help her stay with you at the table during meal times. One of my friends had a child that only ate pancakes and white bread - for many years! I wondered how she was patient with that.
I'm eager to hear how it goes for all of you.

hey Tami,

I am 20yrs old with CF and I had a gtube put in in 4th grade until my senior year of high school. I never got an infection and played soccer and cheerleaded with it.I was gaining the weight on my own so I took it out in 5/05. this past winter i had a horrible time with losing weight so in may I had it put back in. Its not uncomfortable and you get so used to it you forget its there most of the time. it really is the best thing. you feel better with the weight back on and are able to fight infection better. like all things it just takes time to get used to it.

Hope I was somewhat of a help,

Kayla
