Glutathione

Ok, i finally decided to give oral Glutathione a whirl and ordered some via TheraNaturals as somebody on here suggested, but I think I may have got the wrong one.
The one I'm using is called GSH Caps Reduced L Glutathione, they are 500mg's and I am taking two a day.
Is this the right one to use? Is my dosage ok and what should I be expecting to see as a result of taking this? I have been using it now for about a week.

You got the right stuff, the other that is recomended is GSH curc-caps which also has NAC in it, also from Theranaturals. Recomended doses are 30mg/pound of body weight, but you should start low and increase gradually. It will take a while for it to start showing results, I'd give it at least 3 months, but you should notice less inflamation in the lungs, easier to cough gunk out, thinner mucus.

Im not sure this is the correct one. The reduced one is for NEBULISING only, and not to be taken orally. Mine actually says on the back that they are not to be taken orally.
The GSH you want from Theranaturals are called Cur-caps. They have curcummin, GSH and selenium in them. Recommended dose is found here on this link. <a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="http://members.tripod.com/uvicf/gsh/gshaugment.htm

</a>My son has been on GSH since Nov. and has put on four kilos!!! He has had one lot of nebulised antibiotics in that time, but is the best he has been for 18 months. I cant say for sure it is the GSH as he has also started Azithromycin which is really helping him a lot. I think it's a combination of the two things. I have just started him on NAC as well.

Mine doesn't say it's for nebulising, it says to take one cap a day with water......although I would love to try nebulising GSH - I thought though that the nebulisable one was a 'buffered' solution....oh heck i'm confused now!! It does say that these are 'acidic in water'....whatever that means. I would like to be able to open up the cap and dissolve the contents in water if this is possible......can anyone add anything else here that might help?

Krazy, this the same lin in Jo's reply <a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="http://members.tripod.com/uvicf/gsh/gshaugment.htm">http://members.tripod.com/uvicf/gsh/gshaugment.htm</a> It will give you all the details you need. The GSH that you got is for oral use, and the buffered (GSHPlus from theranaturals) is is the one that should be inhaled.

Thanks everybody, as usual you are a wealth of information. I have had a read through this link and am relieved to see i did order the correct one, i have also now ordered some NAC to supplement it with.

As I am currently on a Pulmozyme trial I am not telling my doc that I am starting these supplements now, my lungs, my business, not gonna sit and wait for another 5 months until the trial is over, every day counts for us so i will take NAC and Glutathione on the sly.

I will however wait until after this Pulmozyme trial is finished before I try inhaling Glutathione...as that really could impact the effect Pulmozyme is having on me, whereas I doubt very much anything I take orally will make much difference either way.

I noticed in that link it said nobody with Cepacia should try Glutathione, but i know Diane does and with good results - anybody else? If so, do you inhale it or just take it orally?

Okay, I checked out the Theranaturals site, and I think the one you have IS okay.
There's another one there with 'sodium bi carbonate' on the front under 'buffered', which is the one I was referring to earlier (and is the one I have for nebulising plus the cur-caps for oral)...it says its for nebulising on the bottle. they're all referred to as buffered...confusing, I thought the buffered meant they were formulated for nebulising!! Sorry about the mis information!!
I have got Sam to nebulise a couple of times and he had no problem with it...couldnt notice any difference either, but others have. I dropped the nebs because he was on nebbed a/bis.
I just read the link I put up for you and yep, it's fine...again, sorry!!
