Hello. My son is 4 years old. Before he was 6 months old he had RSV twice. From that point on he has had to take breathing treatments on and off. He does fine in the summer months and most of the winter. He gets sick often in spring and fall. He has also had to take mirolax to help with constipation for about a year. He is a very very active child. He is in a normal range for his height and only slightly below normal for his weight. His doctor has always told me he thinks he has a type of childhood ashma that he would grow out of. The month of September has been very hard on him, and he has had to take treatments the entire month and has now got a ear infection. After a month of being sick, the doctor suggested allergy tests, and I just off handly said "You don't think he could have cf, do you?" And his shoulders just dropped. My heart did too...So now we are going for the test in two weeks. We have two older very healthy children, no cf in our family that we know of. Besides the ashma deal, our son is pretty much very healthy. So what do ya'll think, could it have just slipped by all this time unnoticed? And do any of you know how long it will take to get the test results from the sweat test back? Will they tell us that day? Thank you for any help.
