Going to do The Vest for 8 hours straight

My sputum production has increased the last week and I have a day off next week and was thinking of doing The Vest for 8 hours straight. Max it out, put on a few movies and cough away.  Anyone else ever do The Vest for a long period of time?<div><br></div><div><br><div><br></div><div> </div></div>

I've heard of a few people doing it overnight. Think one went to U of MN and was on the transplant list and was directed to do so by his doctor...

I couldn't do the Vest 8 hours straight. If you are that bad, you should go to the ER or see your doctor.

Can't hurt to try.

This made me think, maybe we should have a vest-a-thon to raise money. We could call it, "vesting for a cure" to just see if we get sued by the Komen foundation. :) If we all vest at the same time maybe the earth will vibrate just enough to raise awareness everywhere.

Can't hurt to try.</end quote></div><br><br>Not sure I agree with this.  The vest is an aggressive way to introduce vibration & trigger coughing.<br><br>I would personally be concerned about doing it for 8 hours straight as it is going to be very irritating to lung tissue; given that you are already sick this might not be a good idea.<br><br>As someone else already said you are on the verge of needing to be seen by a doctor, I think you need to at least call your CF doc before starting doing this to get their clearance.<br>
