Great Strides fundraisers for Adults

I posted this in one of the other numerous GS threads but it seems to have gotten buried and overlooked.

I was wondering what you all do as adults for Great Strides fundraisers? I see plenty of parents here that stick up a kid's photo somewhere, or send out cards or letters like that. I don't think that really would work for me as an adult, and I currently don't work so all the things like "Jeans for Genes" are out for me as well.

This is my first year doing GS and I really have no idea where to start (and yes, I did read all the suggestions on cff.org)

What unique fundraising ideas have you guys tried? How receptive are businesses or strangers to donating?

Any thoughts or ideas are most welcome, thanks.

Check with your local Walmart or Sams. Where I live, we can do a fundraiser in front of the store (like selling plush animals) and the store will match what you raise up to $500 or $1000.

also..the local Sonic will let our team "car hop" and use all the tips towards our fundraiser.

hope this helps

I'm going to do a bake sale on my University's campus. You know poor college kids love homemade treats! Also, my brother's fiance is most likely doing a loose change drive at the school she works at. I've been brainstorming other stuff...it's fun!

Hmm, well I've graduated from college already but maybe they'll let me do it as an alumni. Can't hurt to ask.

Also I never knew such big chains would let you fundraise in front of their stores! And even match some money to boot. I'll look into that and talk to other businesses around here too.

Thanks for your tips. Anyone else have some good ideas? You guys have to have something creative you do!
