I ran across your blog last night and then after registering with CF.com I read your thread. Small world!!!
Anyway, I have been through years of fertility treatments. For all of those years I was considered "unexplained infertility." It was so frustrating b/c we knew there was a problem, but no one could figure it out. After visiting 2 different fertility clinics in Houston (and 9 IUI's)I finally found a doctor that wanted to be proactive. He diagnosed me with mild endo and PCOS, but didn't truly believe that was causing my problems. DH checked out with all of his tests too. I had surgery to correct the endo and six months we did IVF. We collected great eggs, fertilized them and let them go until the blastocyst stage (day 5). We transferred 2 and two weeks later I found out I was pregnant with twins. At 26 weeks pregnant my water broke with twin A (our son). Long story short (I will give you our blog address to read about it) they thought our son was born with CF. No family history so we were shocked! Sadly, our little boy died 2 weeks after the blood work confirmed that he was a carrier (he was 6 months old). It was because of his positive carrier results that I went in last week to have a CF screen (we are trying our second attempt at IVF soon...hopefully) and I was diagnosed with CF. Now I am wondering if my very thick EWCM has something to do with my fertility...I read that part of the issue with CF patients being infertile is b/c of their CM...so it would make sense.
