Had my baby!

Madeline Grace decided that she was ready to come out on Friday! My water broke at about 1:30 am. We went into the hospital at about 7 am and since she was still breech and I was dilating, they hurried me into the OR and she was born by c/s at 11:20 am on 8/8/08!

She is so precious. She is teeny tiny, only 4lb10oz at birth, but perfectly healthy! She passed her apgar with flying colors and she's doing really well. We luckily didn't have to stay in the hospital too long, we got to come home Sunday afternoon. We've had a bit of trouble breast feeding, but I had a lactation consultant come out today and so I think we're back on track. I am feeling pretty sore from the c/s, and coughing is no fun! but honestly it's not as bad as I thought it'd be.

I'll update more later, it's time for Maddie's lunch! Here are some pictures!

That is awesome! How exciting, & I bet you are happy she came a little early & still so healthy. Madeline is way too cute-what a peanut! Hope the breastfeeding works out; I know it takes a lot of work & patience. Hopefully you will heal quickly & not be sore for much longer. Good luck to you & keep us updated on you & Maddie!

Oh how tiny! She is adorable! And to think I thought my son was small at 5 lbs 11 oz. I'm sorry you had to have a c/s but I'm glad you are recovering well. Way to go on breastfeeding her. Keep at it! The first 6 weeks are said to be the hardest (for my son it was the first 10 days or so). If you need any advice don't hesitate to ask. Kellymom.com is a great online resource.

Oh and if you haven't done so already, figure out how to nurse in the "side lying" position. Makes it so easy to sleep at night <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">
