Graycie's hands and feet get that way in the bath also. But her finger pads also peel and that does hurt her. Don't know if the peeling has anything to do with her CF or not.

Owen's hands and feet look just like the pictures above. I keep cracking up when I think about bringing in the article to our CF doctor, she would seriously think we had lost all our marbles. But, you know it stays in my mind!

I was just reading an article in one of my women's magazines that talked about skin care and it mentioned that the skin doesn't actually prune or recede but gets puffed up, hydrated with water.

Our skin cells absorb a little bit of water when we soak too long in the tub and because this swelling layer of skin is connected underneath to tissue that does not swell, the skin buckles causing wrinkled fingers and toes.

And that this process takes about 15-20 minutes. Or in my son's case -- about 30 seconds. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

Jaden's hands do the same thing. First time I saw that was before he was diagnosed and I thought it so strange. I remember wraping his hands in towels and rocking him thinking it must hurt. Isn't that funny (wierd) that I would find this now.
