The Scandical might work well for her; it is colorless, tasteless... so no issues should crop up due to colors, flavorings, sugars, etc. You are supposed to be able to sprinkle it on all kinds of stuff; it comes in an 8oz can and is 35 calories per tablespoon. Not as many calories as you'd get from a tb of straight fat (i.e. 120 for oil) but there are just some things we can't pour oil on, kwim?
The Scandishakes do come in an artificially sweetened version. Artificially sweetened products vary so much in taste; some are really nasty and others are OK; she might do ok with it. The Scandishake has a different taste than Carnation; is richer (the 21 grams of fat will do that to it, haha) so maybe the fake sweetener won't have the same impact on flavor. Emily likes these much better than Carnation, I will say that!
I will be interested in finding out if that xray shows a lot of stool in her system to begin with, whether or not there is a bigger problem to deal with. I know it hurts a lot when she goes- is the stool hard or extremely large (even if not hard) when she tries to pass it? Or is she also gassy? Does it seem like she's still not digesting fat well (i.e. greasy stool, floaters, etc?) I'm so sorry she is dealing with so much here!
