there are some concerns that I have for my children sharing germs. We have completely separate areas for their medicines, this way nobody shares inhalers, or nebs. We actually went a step further, and use separate juice cups. It's not like that makes a huge difference b/c they use the same silverware after it's washed, but somewhere in my brain, it made sense at the time. I also make sure they don't eat or drink off each other. My daughter was culturing pseudomonas at the time my son was born, and (knock on wood) he has never cultured it. Thankfully, right now, my daughter isn't culturing it either.
To be completely honest with you, if I HAD to pick something positive out of both of the having CF, it would be that they have each other to go through it with. It's not just taking one child to the doctor, while the other runs around with no problems. They're each others buddies. They do their vests together, meds together & share each other's pain when it's time for blood draws each year. Hope this all helps.
