Headaches connected to sinus problems?

I have severe headaches. I recenty got sick and ended up with antibiotics to treat bronchitis. I don't have any headaches right now. I have typical CF sinuses, small, undeveloped, and full of polyps. Any anyone had headaches and sinus problems and had relief from antibiotics? I am wondering if having the polyps removed might help my headaches. What do you think?

I suffer chronic sinus infections. Antibiotics always help. Infection and inflammation go hand in hand. Infection causes inflammation and inflammation makes infection worse. So, whenever I'm on antibiotics, the inflammation in my sinuses is reduced, and therefore, the headaches from the pressure in my sinuses is reduced as well. Removing the polyps will also reduce that pressure. However, they will most likely come back.

I hope this helps.

I have that problem as well. Everytime I go on Zyvox, my sinuses feel great...and the minute I go off...BAM. I do nasal rinses twice a day with Pulmicort mixed in, which seems to help. I do notice a difference if I skip a dose of that. I also take Motrin (600 mgs, twice a day). I don't know if that is an option for you, but that is probably what helps me MOST.

When I was first dx I saw an ENT who was with the CF center. He was awesome. I now live 2 hours away and find that most docs around here are not CF familiar.I wash my sinuses with saline when I have a definite sinus issue, but not as routine. I haven't been scoped for about 6 years. Maybe it is time to see an ENT and try to get it all cleaned up. Maybe then I can keep it healthier. I know the polyps will probably grow back, but it atleast it would buy me some time without feeling like there is always something in my face! Do you add any antibiotics to the saline? Does the back of your head ever burn?

We talked about removing the polyps. He said they'd probably grow back so we needed to wait as long as we could. One polyp was nearly touching top to bottom. He said that when that grew big enough to block the passage, I would need surgery. I am wondering if I am finally there. Might be time for another scope...

I had sinus surgery almost 1 year ago--not only did it help my headaches, but it helped a myriad of other CF symptoms: sore throat, coughing, etc. Colds are much less severe for me now as well. I was able to go home the same day. I recommend it 150%!
