headaches

Hi. I never experienced headaches during pregnancy but I have a few ideas. First, make sure you're drinking enough water. I get dehydration headaches if I am not up on my fluids. Second, are you taking extra magnesium? A symptom of magnesium deficiency is headaches. Stress on our bodies (like pregnancy) and just about all the meds we take for CF deplete magnesium from our bodies. Just google it and you'll see what I'm talking about. You should probably be getting around 600-800 mg a day. Magnesium is something that won't hurt you and may only help. If you decide to take it, start slow (100 or 200 mg a day) and work your way up. I have clear magnesium defiency symptoms and I am a total convert to the (real and researched) benefits to taking the supplement. Most of the population in the US is deficient and we just kind of live with the symptoms and assume they're normal.

I hope you're able to get some relief soon!!

thanks for the replies guys! there are some days that i just lay down and sleep cause i just can't do anything else. my blood pressure has been like 98/53 since i was pregnant and it was around that before i got pregnant. maybe it's stress and horomones. but the doctor did tell me to take calcium and magnesium and i haven't gotten them yet. they told me i didn't have to get the one with iron added into it, but i can't find one without iron added in it. i have to call my specialist tomorrow and cancel and reschedule my appt so i'll ask them if they have any suggestions as well!<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

Could be a sinus headache due to rhinitis. I didn't have headaches but my main complaint during pregnancy was rhinitis.

As Caroline said, I'd ditto that they could be from dehydration. I got alot of bad headaches when I was in the beginning of my pregnancy. One time I remember specifically, I never had a headache like it before. I was doubled over it was so bad.
Drink alot more. Your circulation system is doubling right now with preg and you need to drink to keep up with it.
And sleep!!!!
