I am EXTREMELY lucky in the fact that I have great health insurance, so I know I'm not an accurate description of what a normal CF person or family pays. I only have to pay for copays $15, 25, 50 for Rx's and $20 for office visits. My insurance also has an asthma program that allows my asthma meds (albuterol, Advair) to have no copay. Then I am also on a couple different patient assistance programs that cover my tobramycin, pulmozyme, and ultrase copays. I also get my vitamins for free on another program.
If copays and things are getting to be too much, check out the patient assistance programs that are offered and see if you qualify. My CF center's social worker has been great in the fact that they really help us find ways to get assistance and free stuff.
