I spend about $500 per year out of pocket for neccessary meds- I pay for all of my supplemental vitamins and meds in full (Fizzy NAC, greens plus, etc, that averages about $800 per year- my grocery bull is approx. $200 weekly.

I have no co-pays for hosital stays, office visits, procedures, etc.

Roughly $6,000 out of pocket after insurance last year. Thats just for co pays. I have an 80/20 presciption program. My short term disability ended as of Sept 4, so it will be interesting to see how costs change now. I am on long term disability and was approved for Social Security Disablity as of September also.</end quote></div>

Do you pay this from you disability payments? I mean, does being on disability come with some sort of insurance? Or is it private? How much money does that leave you to live with? wow!

Under my employer's last plan, I paid about $200/month in co-pays, and a vest system was only covered 50%. Last fall, we switched to a high-deductible plan. However, my employer sets up an HSA for each of us with the full amount of our deductible. So, in effect, I now pay absolutely nothing for my health care, and my vest system was covered 100% (because my deductible was met after the first pick-up of Tobi).

I do pay for supplements and protein greens (Thanks, Crystalina--great suggestion!). That adds up but nothing like paying regular health care costs.

I started summarizing costs to do taxes and this year it was just under $9400.00 for prescriptions, copays and hospital bills. I know the last few years is it has averaged aobut $8000.00/yr.
