Health insurance tips

i was doing a search trying to find a site with a lot of good tips on dealing with health insurance and came upon this site: <a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="http://cappskids.org/TipsForDealingWithInsurance.htm">http://cappskids.org/TipsForDealingWithInsurance.htm</a>

My question is about the first tip: <div class="FTQUOTE"><begin quote>In every state there is an agency in charge of monitoring insurance companies to make certain that the insurance companies follow proper procedures and the law.</end quote></div>

I've never even heard of this before. Has anyone ever dealt with such an angency, and did it help at all?

<b>edit</b> If ound the one for Colorado. Just do a search for "Insurance commissioner" and it should turn something up. I know state agencies aren't always the most efficient or reliable, but I guess it's worth a try if nothing else seems to be working.

I'm not sure, but its probably part of your state's attorney general's office or Office of Inspector General.

Yep, it's true. Keep in mind, however, that monitoring them to follow proper procedures doesn't necessarily ensure that they'll be a pleasure to deal with <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

By the way, it's good to see your name pop up again here. I hadn't seen you sign in for quite awhile and I was hoping everything was okay.
