I agree- time to start interviewing new centers if at all possible (JMHO, of course ). I've had frustrations with my adult clinic, but nothing quite like that!

I did have a GI say something similar to me during a follow up visit after an endoscope procedure for my bile duct, and having raised liver enzymes "Why are you here?" What?!? What do you mean, why am I here? Because I was told to come- I don't have a clue about what comes next! Good grief! He's the doctor- he should be telling me! (and I didn't go back, and now have a wonderful GI ). Let us know what you decide- that's just ridiculous! I don't take BC either, and my doctors have no problem giving me antibiotics when I need them...

Hi, welcome to the site. I can't offer any good advice, other than maybe look for another clinic you'd be happier with. Good luck and I hope you find the answers you need.

cheers,

I've had some really lousy doctors that didn't know diddly and some really great ones I would consider putting in my will!

About the lousy ones, I would remind myself that many doctors just barely passed their tests to be a doctor, plus some are doctors for the wrong reason. If I don't like a dr. I "fire him" and try a new one. Even if you have to travel further.

Besides being knowledgeable about the conditions at hand, a doctor also needs to have a bedside manner that you can deal with. My doctors are people I can actually TALK to and they LISTEN. Definitely sounds like you need to fire this one and find another.

My husband was a patient of AMC his entire life (he passed away in 2004). I am very surprised by your post and can't even being to guess which DR you see ( unless this is a fairly new DR). There are about 4-5 DR's in the CF clinic, have you made an appointment with someone else. AMC is an excellent hospital/CF center, maybe you and that DR don't click and you need to request to see someone else.
