I usually don't log in unless I'm posting either, since I'm usually on my work computer.

Look at it this way - if you make this registered users only, the people who want to 'lurk' will just create a name and check it out anyway. Other than that, maybe some of these unregistered users stumble across the site and learn something REAL about CF and what we all go through... what great press!!

Hi!
I am new to the site. I get updates and see threads on my FB wall and when I click to look at them they do not sign me in automatically. I end up looking at threads while I am not signed in. Sometimes it will prompt me, or say I can't look at something because I am not signed in. Maybe that is the case with these 1000+ people hanging out around here.

I go to a lot of forums in a day, but this forum has an absurd amount of unregistered users on the site. It really makes me wonder... who are all these people? I feel like I'm sitting here trying to have a serious discussion with Mel, Amy, Jenn... then I look down at the "guests" and there's 1000 people standing over my shoulder?

Thoughts as to who these people are? Healthcare companies? Undiagnosed people? Weirdoes? Makes me reluctant to discuss personal things anymore. :/

I am not sure where you see those numbers? I wld also be concerned? I'v had trouble getting on to the site for more than a month now and Ennio helped bless her. But where are all the names of people that used to be on here? I am confused and wondering where they all went. Strange??? Pat-57-CF

Most of the time, I dont sign in to look at the forums, and I am a registered user. I have cf.com on my news feed on facebook, and forum posts pop up and I will go from there, or straight from the daily emails....I ususally don't think aboput logging in until I want to post something then I can never remember my password...

Me neither. I signed in just to reply here. I've been with my hubby for 3 years and only needed to register this year because some threads were not visible to unregistered users. And, joining took weeks because every time I tried to register I was rejected as spam, until suddenly one day it accepted me. Hubby is one of the lurkers too, follows the links from the daily emails, just as I do. I don't think he's ever posted and he can't remember his password. Sometimes I get here because I googled a general cf-related phrase and this forum comes up as one of the results.
