What 50 psi compressor do you use/have you used? Pros/cons, etc?
We have a mobilaire, which I found online and paid out of pocket about $220.
You can adjust the psi as per the drug mfg recommendations -- faster for pulmozyme to get smaller particles, shorter treatments. Reduce for tobi -- I believe the rec is 26 psi (can't remember); however, if you increase the psi for any drug too much or when the med runs out of the cup, the hoses pop off and sometimes startle the heck out of me. It's a much sturdier machine, lasts longer. One con is finding replacement filters. There's a charcoal filter you're suppose to rinse out along with a felt one you aren't
Not very portable, I know some people travel with theirs, but we use a spare pari vios or Philips inspiration as they're smaller.
I believe Devilbiss makes one as well. Not sure on sound though. looked like a beast. Pari probably makes one as well for hospital use. Have you done an online search of 50 psi nebulizers?
We have the Mobilaire. I just replaced one we had for the last 4 years. It is loud but so efficient. I was on the phone for an hour the other day with our insurance co trying to get them to cover the new Mobilaire...it was quite a circular conversation. anyway never got resolved. I will have to have our doc write a cover letter with some diagnosis code and some other code for it to be covered. I was cool as a cucumber. The woman on the phone was just doing her job. But i did tell her that this was the exact reason I paid for the last one out of pocket(it was too much aggravation) for $270... This time I am going to keep trying; just on principal.
Yes, We have the new one. Filled out a claims reimbursement form; I've have spoken to a total of 3 reps now they are waiting on codes from the doc. We are seeing the doc 2 morrow...Just silly; her meds are thousand of dollars but they fight over a $270 machine? It's the principal...
Vitalitymedical.com. I did not notice any smell. when our old one burned out there was an electrical smell; like burned rubber.
