Help - Stroke Like?

Yeah it could be a TIA (transient ischemic attack) which is like a mini-stroke and sometimes they can be a warning side of a bigger stroke to come. It could have been anything though so make sure they don't blow you off. Regardless of what it was, those symptoms are not normal and scary enough for you to be able to find out exactly what caused it. Don't take "we're not sure" for an answer!!

Hi there: Im glad your mom was there to help keep you grounded.

Well I have had very similar episodes not in quite some time though. They actually were siezures. All better now though. They don't really know why but all better with tegretol. I also had similar symptoms but slightly different turned out to be cough synchopy sounds scary but all it is , is Calcium and Vit D very low levels. Recommend getting those checked cause it would rule it out.l Wrhere we mal aborb wouldn't be so uncommon. 'Best bet though is to ge to the doc. I will pray for you that it is something simple.

Diabetes symptoms too. When I get low sometime similar symptoms. You may have been getting low. Where you were sweating that is a severe symptom of low blood sugar. by the time you checked it , because of nervousness it might have come up again.

check blood sugars before going to bed and maybe in middle of nigh for a couple of nights

Take care.

Thanks so much for your replies!!

I'm really still shaken up by it. I did email my Dr. They gave me an appt on Tuesday but said it didn't sound CF related. It was funny when you both wrote don't let them blow you off - because I was thinking how unlike my center that is... but it kinda does sound like that is what they're doing. We'll see how the appt goes on Tuesday though, and in the meantime if I notice anything different about how I feel, I'll call right away.

Thanks again!, (but if anyone has any other experience, I'd of course still love to hear!)

I had a stroke back in June of 2006 and have had 3 TIA's since then. Some of your symptoms are very alarming and go right along with the symptoms of a TIA or stroke. I would not wait until Tuesday to see a doc; personally I would head straight for the ER for a CT or MRI. What I failed to realize during one of my "episodes" is that strokes can actually studder.....meaning they can stop and then continue minutes or hours later!

Please keep us updated and I know going to the ER is a pain, but please se a doc SOON!

Best wishes!
