All my docs have always said to stop airway clearance for 24 hours, as well as strenuous exercise that might induce coughing fits. Back when I used the IPV (a very intense form of airway clearance) I was told to stop for 48 hours. I've always heard that albuterol/xopenex is fine during this 24 hour period.
My doc allows me to add back DNase/pulmo afer 24 hours as long as there is NO blood or streaking. After that, I add HTS again.
I HATE stopping treatments for 24 hours. Believe me, I have kicked and screamed and complained and begged and posted multiple threads hoping other people would tell me that my doctors were crazy. But, most docs follow more or less this protocol it seems (not that those who vary slightly are wrong, of course). The simple fact is, skipping one day of treatments might be uncomfortable, but in the long run it's probably not going to hurt you, whereas allowing a bleed to get out of control can lead to serious complications.
Ask about inhaled antibiotics -- I've always been told I can continue with those during the stop period as well.
