I have had reocurring hemoptysis for about 13yrs, in fact i just had my 27th embolization last month. In 2001 i had part of my lung removed. So i am an old pro at this.
From my experience, whenever i have hemoptysis i stop all treatments the day of the bleeding and depending on the severity of the bleed i may stop all breathing treatments for two or three days. Cpt while having hemo is ALWAYS a no no. The rule of thumb with cpt is to stop it until your dr says to restart.
I have found that tobi and pulmozyme have created and made my hemoptysis worse. I stopped those two treatments indefinatley a few years back. It took me a good five years to finally convince my dr that those treatments made it worse. Also it is a old belief that infections cause the bleeding. But about 95% of my episodes happened without an infection present.

But having said all that, everyone is different in how meds affect them. I just thought i would give my two cents about a topic i am so familiar with. I hope this helps. I was told when you see pure red blood to always call your dr asap. Better to be safe than sorry.
