Hopefully your doctor has dealt with this before and knows how to handle the insurance co. I hardly think this is a unique situation for a CF clinic to arrange. I hope it works out for you.

A good round of IVs helps a ton! Of course it's different for everyone, but if you're currently sitting lower then your base line FEV1, then a good round can bring you up higher then your base. They used to bump me way up and I'd be good to go for 2 years or so. So yes, if the meds you go on are sensitive to your bugs, then you have a great chance of improving for the time being. I would always feel glad I did it, b/c sometimes there's nothing else that can help improve your current lung state like IVs can.

Good luck.

I am sure it will be fine. Most insurance companies would rather pay for home IVs over a hospitalization.

What I need to do is show that I am homebound in order to get home chest pt from a nurse or PT when I am not on IVs.
