Horseback riding and CF

I used to ride horses all the time when I was in high school. I had to stop when I went to college because of time. It was the healthiest I have ever been in my entire life. Right before I stopped I was riding up to 6 horses a day training and all. I can't tell you how much I miss it. I am looking into starting back up again maybe this summer (hopefully!). As far as the manure and hay goes, I doubt she will be picking either if these up so she should be fine. Just keep your eye on her with allergies. She may have some you are unaware of, like to hay.

I think it is an excellent idea!!!!!

We used to own horses. I never had a problem being around them or riding them. I think it is a wonderful activity for anyone. I hope your daughter enjoys it!

yeah yeah yeah!!!
i have 7 horses and although preg and lo has kept me from riding much recently, it is the best workout for cfers!!!
think of it, you are using your back and arm muscles to move w the horse while you bounce up and down over and over again. my old doc used to keep telling me to ride saying, its the next best thing to chest pt.
up down up down up down
the best part is, u don't realize how hard you are actually working your body so u don't tire out easily.
not only is it great for cfers, it keeps you outside and the connection riders build w their horses is amazing-that alone is good for the mental/emotional health

We showed and bred Arabians when I was a kid, up until I went to college- it is a great workout, and lots of fun and fresh air <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif" border="0"> .
