Hospital Stays

When Kayla was just in, I did bring some of her meds b/c I wasn't sure if we would be able to get Claritin in disolvable tablets, nor her Prevacid Solutabs. All we had to do was give the meds to our nurse, who sent them down to the pharmacy. The pharamcy then 'approved' them and sent them back up to us.

And b/c Kayla was not on a CF/Pulmo floor (due to the Cepacia) the nurses were not as familiar with things. I was glad that I had my own enzymes, b/c the nurses tended to forget about them.

I sure do hope this hospital stay is short. Poor baby<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif" border="0">

I ALWAYS bring all of my own meds and I have the dr. write orders to let me take my own. I even have an experimental med that always confuses the heck out of all the nurses. I have done this at two different hospitals. They will never have ALL that I need, they will never have it on time, and they usually mess something up. I am there to get better and part of getting better NEVER includes breaking up my usual CF routine. That makes no sense to me so I always cover myself.

Driving an hour and half one way to go to the ER on Monday we didn't think they would admit her due to them just seeing her on that Thursday. My daughter got her way and Graycie is now home on 2 ABX's. They had an outbreak at the hospital of RSV and my daughter threw a fit until they agreed to let her do them at home. You know that saying "When it rains it pours?" Well last night after putting the girls down to bed, she fell down her stairs and broke her left hand. Yep, she's in a cast now and she is left handed. We really need them to approve that vest, NOW! She is stressing on how to do the treatments like PT with one hand, so we all will be pitching in until the vest gets here.........Shew!!!!!!Does it ever end?
