this is definitely not a list of pulmonology greats. the cleveland clinic has specialists in asthma-that's it. The only pulmonologists in northeastern ohio that know/study/treat cf are at Case Western University Hospital (which is right down the street from cleveland clinic).

if you went to cleveland clinic and told them you had cfrd, they'd look at you like you were an idiot.

While interesting, we should keep in mind that these rankings are based on a ridiculously broad methodology that has little application to the care provided by the CF Centers at these or other hospitals.

I even go to one of these, but I just don't think this is a meaningful tool for making any kind of CF care related decision.

</a>
The focus of these rankings is on inpatient care... most day to day CF care is provided as outpatient services (with obvious exceptions). The rankings are based in part on the provision of selected specialty services, none of which (besides CT Scans)are applicable to CF care.

The rankings themselves are a composite score based on 17 specialities, most of which don't apply to CF at all. The few that might say something about CF care don't really either, given the small CF patient population compared to other respiratory or digestive disorders.

I could go on, but will spare you all :)
