Housecleaning!

I would love a cleaning lady once in a while. Just can't afford it right now.

I will be trying out that grout cleaning trick. I like a clean house but my fatigue levels have caused me to lower my standards a bit. My mom is coming out for Thanksgiving and has promised to help me and do some of the hard to reach spots.

I have taught my son how to do simple things around the house and in a pinch he will do them for me. I just caught my second cold in two months so I will be having him help out this weekend.

My husband is very good about some things, like dishes, laundry, sometimes cleaning the bathroom. But he's working right now and I am not, so I don't want him to work and then come home and clean.

I have found I've had to lower my standards a lot, too, mamerth! It's terribly hard because I'm so grossed out by dirt and germs!

One thing that I do with dusting, that may help some people, is I use the presoaked pledge wipes first, and then use the spray and a cloth. When I spray first, it shoots dust into the air, so using a wipe first gets most of it and then I can really clean.

Magic Eraser does a great job on soap scum. No chemicals involved

I am an OCD cleaner, I hate clutter dust and dirt.. Last year my health took a turn and I have not recovered yet.... It drives me insane to have anything out of place, piles of paper etc.

I can not afford a cleaning lady on a regular basis but I have one come every so often... I honestly stopped cooking so I didn't have to clean, I eat out a lot, or I eat very simple things.

I am horrible at asking for help with cleaning.. with anything really. When my dad visits twice a year he does the garage for me and anything outside that my landscapers don't do.

I can't breathe in the fumes either...and I don't have the energy to scrub. If it makes you feel any better the cleaning ladies don't usually scrub, they wipe stuff down which makes me insane.

Some tricks I have learned is. Though I have two full bathrooms I only use the one in my bedroom. I save the other bathroom just for guests and I wipe the toilet and sink every time someone is here and uses it.. No scrubbing because it is cleaned so much.

The kitchen is wiped down every day with Pinesol which does not bother my lungs.. Since I wash it every day, I don't have to scrub anything.

My bathroom, I wear a mask and gloves because I use Lysol bleach cleaner in my bathroom and well I gag and choke....

I recently qualified for an assistant that would do food shopping for me and also clean my immediate living area. I turned it down like an idiot and then exactly a week later I started doing this rigorous IV schedule and I am kicking myself.

oh jennifer...never turn down help! I too have a cleaning lady. I say keep looking for one that will straighten you all. I used to stress getting ready for another lady to come. It's not worth it. If they can't work with the mess you've got, they are not a fit. Also each time mine comes she does a "special project" so that we are making progress not just keeping things at the same level. One week it might be cleaning out my fridge, another a cabinet, and another a closet, another thoroughly dusting all of Ike's toys. She's a godsend. I highly recommend brazilian housecleaners. I pay her $115 every 2 wks.

I agree, housecleaning definately wipes me out. My husband and I fight most about this. I have found the Method products work awesome and they are all natural so no horrid fumes. They are very comparable in cost as well compared to some of the natural brands.
