How do you get your infant to sit through treatment?

My daughter is not an infant anymore, but we had a horrible time getting her to let us do CPT and the neb when she was an infant.

Here's what worked for us:

Definitely do nebs onces she fell asleep.
We HAD to do the CPT standing up with her on our shoulder. It was hard, especially turning her around to do the front. But we got much less fight than when we were sitting.
We purchased a big exercise ball. I would lay her on the ball and do "pat pats" while she bounced on the ball. As the got older she enjoyed bouncing on the ball (sitting down, me holding her). Our PT said 20 minutes of this would equate to a full session. So we did this a lot for awhile.

are you saying that bouncing on the ball in your lap was equal to a cpt treatment? I just wanted to make make sure I understood that. I have a big excercise ball and that would help if we could do some like that especially the morning treatment in which he is awake for and loaths.

I'm not sure about on the lap. I didn't do it until my daughter was able to sit up. I sat her on the ball, holding her trunk and made her bounce. And yes, our PT said it was the same as a treatment. Maybe give a call to your clinic RT or PT (whoever taught you CPT) and see what they think.

I have another question about CPT. We just started it this week along with the Xopenex inhaler on our 11 week old daughter. She has been a little more fussy, coughing a little more and sounds like she is trying to clear her throat alot. Just wondering if this is normal...if maybe I'm not doing it right or if I need to be doing something else? Please let me know what you think. Thanks.
