How many enzymes do you take

Jordin takes (2) creon 6 w/ her high calorie bottles, only 1 for snacks/table food. Her poops are soft and smelly...but she is on her highest possible dose for the day (as told by her nutritionist). She is 10 mos old and weighs about 14 1/2 -15 lbs.
She started on 1/2 when born, just like the above post. She had about 7 bms per day as well.

Courtney, you have CF and so does your daughter? Congrats on the new baby girl!

Courtney, I wonder if Madison might need more enzymes being that she's still pooping quite a bit. We had similar issues with DS when he was a baby. His were never shiney or oily, but were frequent and --- sorry if TMI -- but fluffy.

It depends on how much Mak eats. She could eat 8 snacks a day and have to take enzymes, and more when she eats a bigger meal..... It's crazy, all the learning and not knowing for sure what works and what doesn't.
Bless us all,,,,,,,,,,,,,Karla

Courtney~ Breastfed babies' stools are nothing like what you see with bottlefed babies- it's completely normal for a baby that is exclusively/almost exclusively nursed to poop almost as often as they eat at that age (and actually a sign that they are getting a good milk supply.)

As long as they are NOT greasy and the baby is gaining weight well frequent stools might be completely normal. I would still talk to her dr about it of course since cf digestion issues always have to be taken seriously and she might well need more enzymes- and make sure she is having frequent weight checks- but keep in mind the differences between breast & bottle-fed babies (and make SURE her doctors remember it too.)
