hey im jess im 16 and i have met a cf person bu t that was only because when i was in hospital i wasnt aloud to walk round anywhere without consulting a nurse because there was another girl with cf. i also found out she used to go to the same school as me and i never knew hat she did and it could of been fatal if i had court a bug off her. she doesnt go to the same school as me because i was there first and she had to be moved to another school.

iv always wanted to chat or meet another cf patient.

But when I was in the hospital they placed another CFer right next to me... argh. They moved him, though.

I said this somewhere else and I want to say it here now... you are at least as likely to get a nasty bug from being in the hospital as you are from meeting another CFer. They don't want to tell you this because they can prevent you seeing CFers, and they can't prevent you being in the hospital. As long as you use some common frickin sense (don't share nebs, for instance), you can still meet CFers. It's not 100% safe, but neither is anything else you do. And it's no more dangerous than going into the hospital.

I'd also like to add that if you get a mask and at least 10 feet away from them it's just fine for you to meet and talk with them. I did a study with other CFers. We even exercised together (with masks on.) So next time you're sitting in the CF clinic waiting room, ask for a mask and then strike up a conversation by asking the other person in the room if they have CF. (You already know they do because of their clubbed fingers. ) I love to find out what type of breathing treatments they do and what meds they are on!
