my family and i have been participating for a many years. there were a few years when my sister chaired the event and the walk was great and we raised the most money when she was chair. well she is an employee of the american cancer society now, so she can't chair the event, something like conflict of interest. i think thats kinda of crazy.
with that being said my sister is a very organized person and she knows her stuff. well there is a new girl that is with the local chapter and the last two walks have been an embarrassment. nothing is organized and they are still setting up when people get there to register.
they always count on my family to help, get donations, blah, blah, blah. last year was our last year to actually help in any set up. i was so embarrassed last year. this year we told them we would help raise money and walk, but we weren't settingup for the walk or getting donations for that day.
it's makes things so crappy when there aren't good planners.
