<span style="font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; color: #3366ff;">i do Pulmozyme twice a day and HTS 3% twice a day as well...
<span style="font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; color: #3366ff;">my CF team has never stated there should be a break between Pulmo and HTS. the order they've always advised is: <span style="color: #800080;"><strong>bronchodialator</strong> --> <strong><span style="color: #ff6600;">HTS</strong> --> <strong><span style="color: #008000;">Pulmozyme</strong> --><span style="color: #3366ff; font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"><strong><span style="color: #3366ff; font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">C<span style="font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; color: #3366ff;">PT</strong><span style="color: #3366ff; font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">--> <strong><span style="color: #ff0000;">inhaled abx</strong>

My doctors here in Michigan at the U of M Ann Arbor state you should do albuterol, hypertonic saline, pulmozyne and then an inhaled antibiotic. But the Pulmozyne i only due once a day. The rest are twice a day

Hi
We live in Australia and my son has always taken Pulmozyme once a day before bed and when I asked his cf doc if twice would be better he said no. Hope this helps.

Michelle, mumof1, 14 yo son has Delta508

I live in Spain, and I take pulmozyme once a day. In the evening. I have also been told by some doctors that it's better to separate the pulmozyne from the HTS, but my pulmonologist has stated that it's not that important. And separating them will mean a change in my routine, which I am not to keen on, I have sparse time as it is. So I keep doing what I have for about four years. HTS, tearphy, pulmozyme and then inhaled antibiotics.

My 9 year old son has been taking pulmozyme once/day since he was diagnosed at age 5. The CF Center where we live (go twice/yr) said he tells his patients that they can go off of it in the summer for a break. We also go to a CF Center in Chapel Hill twice a year, and they have not mentioned that. I took him off of it for a couple of weeks per doctor #1's suggestion, and he got sick, so we did not do that again!

SOMEBODY has to pay. Just because we may not pay the actual cost of the medication doesn't mean the cost magically dissapears. Rising healthcare costs anyone?
I used to do it twice a day, then once a day, then I went off, and now I'm back to at least once a day. I try to do it twice if I can remember because I've got about 6 boxes of the stuff sitting in my fridge... hey, anyone want some extra TOBI? hahahaha...

If using Pulmozyme BID instead of QD prevents exacerbations, the drug pays for itself. It's not always about the cost of the medication - you have to look at the whole picture.
Pharmacoeconomics, anyone? <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">
